Principal - Emerging Lending Group
Deependu Jain heads the Emerging Corporate Lending (ECL) vertical at Piramal Finance Limited. He has over fourteen years of varied experience in banking, investing (public and private equities) and investment strategy.
Deependu joined Piramal Group in 2013 as Vice-President (Strategy) with Chairman’s Office where he worked with senior management on various investments made by the Group in the financial services vertical. In 2016, he moved to an operating role in Piramal Finance and set up the Emerging Corporate Lending vertical. ECL targets lending in ticket size of Rs.10-100 cr to emerging and mid-market borrowers.
Prior to Piramal, Deependu was Vice-President and a key member of the investment team at New Vernon (India-dedicated USD 2 bn investment fund). He joined New Vernon in 2005 and worked across public and private equity investments for over eight years. Deependu started his career at ICICI Bank in their Structured Finance Credit and Markets Group.
Deependu has completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Bangalore where he was selected to the Director’s Merit List. He has also completed his CFA program from CFA Institute, USA and International Study Program (ISP) from University of St.Gallen, Switzerland.
