Anand Vardhan

Mr. Anand Vardhan (President - Legal, Piramal Group) has more than 18 years of experience in legal function and has extensive hands-on experience in various areas including real estate construction & development, mortgage finance, dispute resolution, private equity funds and investment management.
Prior to joining Piramal, he was General Counsel of SUN-AREA Property Partners (earlier, SUN- Apollo), an offshore real estate private equity fund, before which he was Associate Vice President and Head – Legal of HDFC Property Fund.
Prior to HDFC, Mr. Anand Vardhan has held several managerial positions in legal function at leading business houses like ICICI Bank, Tata Housing and Daewoo Motors.
He is an IRPM (Industrial Relations & Personnel Management) graduate from Hans Raj College, Delhi University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from the Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, Delhi University.
He is also an associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ACS).
In GC Powerlist : India 2016, Mr. Anand Vardhan was listed amongst Top 100 Most Influential and Innovative In-house Counsel by the Legal 500.
He was also nominated as the Young Achiever Award at the 6 th Annual Legal Era Awards, 2016- 17.
He has been further nominated for FT Innovative Lawyer – Asia-Pacific, 2017 by RSG Consulting Research Team published by Financial Times.
